Ireland's Great Hunger Museum in Hamden invites families with children age 5-13 to a special in-gallery exhibition.

Children can create their own Civil War forage cap, or kepi, out of felt. Both sides wore kepis in the Civil War. This is part of a special exhibit on the role of the Irish in the U.S. Civil War.
