"Jack and the Beanstalk" by Dream Tale Puppets
About the Show
When Jack sells the family cow for some magic beans, he launches his family on a GIANT adventure. This joyous and imaginative production transports the audience up the beanstalk with Jack using multiple styles of puppetry — from hand puppets to masks to marionettes! Lively narration, beautiful design, and physical comedy make this an audience favorite at Puppet Showplace year after year.
Jacek Zuzanski of Dream Tale Puppets shared with us that the tale, like many masterpieces of folklore, “inspires varied narrative modes and encourages playfulness that connects artists with the spirit of children's play.” Don’t miss this inspiring and memorable adaptation of a classic!
All ages welcome, especially enjoyed by 3-8
Mixed puppetry styles: hand puppets, figures, marionettes, and masks

About the Artist
Dream Tale Puppets is a continuation of the Story and Puppet Time project, launched at the Cape Cod Children's Museum in April 2003. Jacek Zuzanski, the founder of Dream Tale Puppets, studied pantomime with Henryk Tomaszewski, acting with the actors of Grotowski’s Laboratorium Theater and Barba’s Odin Teatret. He has a master's degree in art from the State Puppetry Institute in Wrocław and a Certificate of Stage Directing from the Ministry of Culture and Art. Before coming to the US in 2001, he taught theater, designed and built puppets, and performed and directed in schools, community centers, and theaters in Poland and Germany. He continued his artistic and pedagogical work in the US, collaborating with schools and cultural centers, including Cape Cod Conservatory, Falmouth Academy, Polish Theater Institute, and Puppet Showplace Theater.
