Stargazing at the Washington National Cathedral
Take a look through telescopes and see the wonders of the night sky. Join National Air and Space Museum staff on the north lawn of Washington National Cathedral. Experienced observers will help visitors spot planets, stars, and the Moon. Telescopes will be provided by Smithsonian Institution.
This program is part of the Space Window Celebration marking 50 years since the dedication of Washington National Cathedral's Space Window, which includes a piece of rock from the Moon.
Stargazing is free and open to the public, no tickets or reservations required.
There is an underground parking garage on the Cathedral grounds, operated by Atlantic, with an entrance on Wisconsin Avenue, NW. WMATA bus routes 31 and 33 also serve this area.
This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to rain, clouds, and other poor visibility. For last-minute updates, call the Astronomy Education number at 202-633-2517.
