Independence Fireworks at George Washington's Mount Vernon

Enjoy an evening of family fun and fireworks along with patriotic music at Mount Vernon to celebrate the nation's founding.
Purchase tickets online, in advance.
Picnic on the lawn. Concessions are available for purchase on the 12-acre field. Outside food is not permitted on the estate.
Fireworks will begin over the Potomac at approximately 9:15pm.
Wreath-Laying at the Washingtons' Tomb: 6:45pm, 7:15pm, 7:45pm, 8:15pm
Walk down to visit the Washingtons' Tomb for a special wreath-laying; this event is one of the few times this area is open in the evening.
The Fifes & Drums of Yorktown 6:30pm, 7pm, and 7:30pm
Revel in the sounds of the 18th century and the music of Washington’s troops on the Bowling Green with performances by the talented Fifes & Drums of Yorktown.
National Concert Band 7:45pm
On the riverside of the Mansion, enjoy a concert by the National Concert Band before the fireworks.
Ice Cream-Making Demonstrations
Watch Mount Vernon's staff perform 18th-century ice cream-making demonstrations on the Bowling Green.
