Car Free Day is a free event celebrated internationally every September and will be observed on September 23 this year. Commuters and residents in the Washington, DC region are encouraged to participate in Car Free Day by working from home or choosing alternative modes of transportation, such as biking, walking, scootering or public transit, for the day.
