Pasadena's museum honoring all things Asian opens its doors for free on the second Sunday of every month.  January's  event marks the 5th annual celebration of the Silk Road, and it's a two-fer, as the Southern California Children's Museum offers a free day as well.  (It's just around the corner!)

PAM's Silk Road event is inspired by the diverse cultures connected through the ancient trade route.

Activities include art making, live music fusing Chinese and Central Asian traditions, and exploration in the interactive space Crossroads: . 

Schedule:

11am- 3:30pm: Art-making
1pm: Music performance

Free admission and parking all day.
