Youngest Innovators is a free program for child participants, designed to inspire curiosity and creativity at the Charles River Museum.

Accompanying adults are welcome for $10, and seniors for $5. Registration is required for each adult and participating child. Space is limited.

Led by early childhood educator Carole Pugliese, this engaging program introduces young learners to the museum’s unique history as a former steam power plant and its current role as a hub for innovation and exploration. The experience begins in the Learning Corner with a group welcome and read-aloud storytime. Following the story, participants will take a guided walking tour of the museum, exploring industrial artifacts and vintage machinery.

Children and their caregivers will be invited to reflect on themes of invention, energy, and creativity through a hands-on activity. After the program, families are encouraged to stay and continue their exploration or enjoy a themed scavenger hunt through the galleries.

The museum is also developing take-home learning kits designed for young visitors, which will be available for checkout at the front desk during future visits.
