Farm to Fleece: Sheep Shearing & Fiber Arts
Visit Fosterfields, a 200-acre farm just outside of Morristown, for sheep-shearing demonstrations using old-fashioned methods. You can also greet the lambs, though they won't be getting their first "haircut" until next season. Meet the farm animals on the property, including Jersey cows
Observe wool dyeing and other fiber arts craft demonstrations. Check out the 1915 farmhouse, and go into the exhibit "Driving into the 20th century," which includes a 1922 Model T car that was driven around Morris County, and also learn to drive on a climb-on Model T truck.
Please note that The Willows 1854 mansion is undergoing restoration and is open inside for tours during this event. There are no concessions on this historic property, but there is a picnic shelter available on a first-come basis, by the Visitors Center.
