The Ashokan Center’s Holiday Craft Faire
The Ashokan Center’s 2nd annual Holiday Craft Faire boasts free admission with both free and paid activities for the whole family. Make your own traditional gifts or enjoy the holiday market and holiday fare, all to seasonal songs sung by local school choruses. Browse the holiday market’s locally made furniture, jewelry, and more. Visit the DIY craft tables for free all-ages crafts—felted soaps, pinecone bird feeders, and more. Hot savory food and drink will be for sale in the dining hall.
For a donation, get a fun photo with family and friends in our restored antique sleigh and wreath-making with Molly Mason.
For a fee, create handmade ornaments. Choose a traditional pattern—Ashokan Educators will help you make your own ornament; ages 8+, $10 per project. Or forge your own art in the blacksmith shop* Apply traditional techniques to make a trivet, poker, or plant hanger with Ashokan Educators; ages 8+, $20 per project. Try broom-making in the broom shop. Craft a sweeper, altarpiece or art item for the wall; ages 12+, $55 per project. Beginning December 1 at 9am, register in advance for these paid activities.
