Juneteenth is a national holiday celebrated each year on June 19th to mark the day when news of the end of slavery reached Galveston, Texas, ensuring the last enslaved people in the United States were freed—a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
The StoryWalk® is located outside.
