Step back in time to experience the life of a soldier in the American Revolution at a military encampment and living history day on the grounds of Alden House Historic Site. 

Join reenactors from Colonel Bailey’s 2nd Massachusetts Regiment and the Yarmouth Minutemen for military drills, music, living history demonstrations, craft programs, and activities for kids.  Enjoy blacksmithing, a hearth program, spinning, woodworking, leatherworking, and much more.  

Author and historian Alexander Cain will present a talk exploring Duxbury's role during the first year of the American Revolution, its response to the Stamp and Townshend Acts, the Boston Massacre, Tea Act, and how Plymouth County united to prepare for war.  
 
There will also be a re-enactment of Duxbury’s 1775 “Council of War,” showcasing three tumultuous days in April of 1775 following the Battles of Lexington and Concord, as Duxbury leaders determined their response to the opening days of the war.       
 
Alden House will be open for tours during the program.
