Free Community Day!
Stop by this free Community Day celebration, a thank you to the community in honor of the museum's 40th anniversary. In the morning, festivities kick off by making one-of-a-kind noisemakers.
Then, join a celebratory parade to the cake-cutting ceremony at 11am, led by a special guest from the Maynard Public Library.Enjoy a performance of "Dhol-Tasha-Lezim," a "double-headed drumming and dance" folk art form that is indigenous to Maharashtra, a state on the west coast of India. Throughout the day, try your hand at some classic Discovery Museum activities such as Balls & Ramps, Cup Towers, a "Discovery Quest" scavenger hunt, and more.
Admission is free all day; advance reservations are required to visit and can be made 10 days in advance. Inclement weather may result in changes to or cancellation of some activities.
