The New York Public Library's Summer at the Library initiative is here, bringing with it the biggest book giveaway in the library's history. The NYPL (which serves the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island) is giving 500,000 books away (for keeps) to kids, teens, and families at all of its branch locations this summer!

Stop by your local library for:

  • A list of over 100 book recommendations for kids K-12
  • Reading challenges for kids and teens (with prizes such as gift cards and trips to Yankee Stadium)
  • Hundreds of free programs, from baby lapsit storytimes to teen podcasting workshops
  • Take home activity packets
