Dig for gemstones in Southeastern Connecticut’s only replica silver mine, Jackpot Mine. Ring the bell at the entrance to call for one of our miners and start your journey into a true replica of a candle-lit silver mine. Equipped with a souvenir bucket, you will join a team of junior miners and use your hands to dig for crystals and minerals that are hidden among the mines.

 

With over 50 different kinds of gemstones, minerals, and crystals, each visit will bring a unique experience filled with educational fun that you can take home. Yes, you get to keep everything you find! Once out of the mine, analyze your treasures at our mineral identifying tables before taking them home in your cool souvenir buckets!

Rain or shine, Jackpot Mine is open every weekend, school vacation, and most holidays (except Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day).
