Cartoon Anatomy: Comic Book Art for Tweens & Teens

This class is designed for kids ages 10-13 who love cartooning and comics and are interested in developing their own style in this exciting tradition. Learn how to create dynamic pictures that tell a story through exciting compositions that can manipulate the viewers’ eye & pack a punch with dramatic impact. The full class course will provide an introduction into the techniques of storyboarding, incorporating narrative panel-to-panel storytelling.
Learn how to tell a story full of detail, drama, and emotion, without any words. Students learn how to design characters and how to set them into their own unique worlds. Each week, the class reviews a different concept in constructing anatomy, stature, muscle structure, and how to push and pull shapes to make appealing characters. Students will learn how to put their figures in motion, create figures that move off the page with clenched fists, strong torsos, unique hair, and costume design.
Class is offered as single day drop-ins or sign up for multi-week full courses by selecting the start date from the registration calendar below.

FULL COURSES OFFERED: SEP 13- OCT 25 (7 weeks) and NOV 1-DEC 27 (9 weeks)
