The Long Island City Partnership’s annual community block festival returns for its 8th annual year—but with a twist! This year LIC Springs to Summer is a series of events, promotions, and performances throughout Long Island City.

Tuesday, June 15
5-6pm: O’Donnell Academy of Irish Dance Live Performance | Kid-Friendly Free open studio performance and in person Irish dance class for children ages 4+.
6-7pm Long Island City School of Ballet Class/Tutorial | Kid-Friendly Free sample childrens ballet class and in-studio performance. Advance registration required.

Wednesday, June 16
3:20-3:40pm, 4:15-4:30pm SING LIC Live Performance | Children perform songs from Broadway hits at Plaxall Art Gallery (5-25 46th Ave). Advance registration not required.
4:30-6pm LIC Girl Scouts Volunteer/Fundraising | Purchase homemade baked goodies at St. Mary's Church (10-08 47th Ave.) to support educational, skillbuilding activities and adventures for over 30 LIC girls.

Thursday, June 17
10am-12pm Hunters Point Parks Conservancy Volunteer/Fundraising |Volunteer with Hunters Point Parks to help keep Hunter's Point South Park and Gantry Plaza State Park clean and beautiful. Advance sign-up required.
4-7pm The QPD Food & Beverage | Free entertainment, snacks, beverages, goodie bags and contests. Advance registration required.

Friday, June 18
12-3pm Lolly’s Learning Center Class/Tutorial |  Free OWLbert Einsteins class: teaches children 3-7 about STEM concepts through hands-on learning. Advance registration required.
2-6pm Playday | Kids create watercolor volcano art. Advance registration not required.
3pm Museum of the Moving Image Art | Screening: Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street. Advance ticket purchase recommended. Use code LICsprings2021 for 20% off tickets.
7-9pm Culture Lab LIC Live Performance | Free live music and performance art open to all. No advanced registration required.
7-9pm New York Irish Center Live Performance |Live traditional music sessions, Irish dancing performances, and a tour of the facility. Advance registration required ($20 per person).

Saturday, June 19
8:30am UnleashFIT Fitness |  Free kettlebell sports performance class (kids welcome) at The Oval @ Hunter's Point South Park.
10am-12pm Hunters Point Parks Conservancy Volunteer/Fundraising |Volunteer with Hunters Point Parks to help keep Hunter's Point South Park and Gantry Plaza State Park clean and beautiful. Advance sign-up required.
10am-12pm Little Chef Little Cafe Art |  Fun spin art experience. $3 per attendee. Advance registration not required.

12-3pm Bareburger Art |  Free face painting! First come, first served.

3-5pm Dussan Eye Care Class/Tutorial | Free in-person workshop on maintaining and monitoring eye health. Advance registration suggested. First come, first served.
3-6pm Woodbines Craft Kitchen Live Performance | Free live music from musician Dave Fahy.

Sunday, June 20
10-11am Queens School of Ballet | Free open class for kids ages 3-7, followed by a performance at Hunter's Point South Park, by the promenade. Advance registration required.
12-4pm Community Capacity Development Live Performance | Celebrate Juneteenth with a BBQ and various music sets, headlined by DJ Enuff at Ravenswood Houses (35-35 21st Street). Free and open to the public.
12-6pm Court Square Civic Association Live Performance | Live music, book swap, art & artists, petanque, bandstand, crafts, BBQ, puppets, DJ, comedian, magic show, beer garden, and cocktails on Crescent Street between 43rd Ave. and 44th Rd. Free and open to the public.
12-3pm Modern Spaces Food & Beverage | Free beer tastings at Fifth Hammer Brewery, plus popcorn, cotton candy and games. Advance registration not required.
1-2:30pm; 4-5:30pm Flux Factory Live Performance | A free meal and performance called Missing Luncheon by Karen Krolak at the Windmill Community Garden (39-22 29th St.). Advance registration required.

6/15-6/20 9am-4pm Communitea Art | Free art show/installation:”Solace” by Ann Cofta, a local Queens textile artist featuring fabric cityscapes. Advance registration not required.

6/14-6/20 All day Greater Astoria Historical Society Tour | Free self-guided scavenger hunt to seek out public art installations scattered throughout the neighborhood. Potential prizes available.

Long-Term Exhibitions The Noguchi Museum Art |  Special Exhibitions: Useless Architecture and Christian Boltanski, Animitas on both floors and the garden. Timed reservations are required through the museum’s website.
