Editor's note: The live run of this performance has been canceled due to challenges from the pandemic. It will be streamed online beginning Friday, April 22. From traditions of the ring shout to contemporary stepping, Step Afrika! reveals the hidden histories and resounding rhythms that transformed America when the Stono Rebellion spurred the Negro Act, which prohibited, among numerous rights, enslaved Africans’ use of drums.

Guests ages 12 and up must provide proof of full vaccination. For kids 5-11, adults must provide proof that the kids have had one dose of an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine. For kids 4 years old, adults must provide a date/time stamped negative Covid-19 test. Face masks must be worn at all times. Children under 4 cannot be accommodated at the theater at this time.
