Astro Live: Astronomy Night

Meet astronauts, scientists, and other experts during the Intrepid's monthly live events that explore space, astronomy and otherworldly topics.
Visitors can head to the Space Shuttle Pavilion to hear from Margaret Weitekamp, curator at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, talk about her new book, Space Craze: America’s Enduring Fascination with Real and Imagined Spaceflight, which pays tribute to almost a century’s worth of real-life space achievements.
Local astronomers from the Amateur Astronomers Association and Unistellar are on hand with their high-powered telescopes to help visitors navigate the night sky and answer questions about astronomy and stargazing. Guests are welcome to bring their binoculars or look through the telescopes of the experts.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is available for select demonstrations, the featured panel, and telescope viewing on the flight deck.
Register online in advance.
