Summer Comedy Camp Times Square NYC 2024

- see all dates
This week-long camp includes classes in improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy performance and creation. Camps take place Monday through Friday.
Typical camp week: 9am welcome, 9:30 warm-ups, 10am Improv Comedy Class/Jam session. Monday-Thursday after lunch: Stand-Up and Sketch Comedy time. Students learn to turn personal experiences and observations into original comedy routines. 3-4 PM is fun-time. Campers might watch a professional show (Improv 4 Kids live), or play Mafia, werewolf or other bonding games lead by teen leaders. Friday afternoon, it's showtime! Campers showcase their routines and improv comedy skills for invited guests, friends and family.
In addition to delivering laughs and amazing performance training, comedy camp offers creative writing, critical thinking, team dynamic, leadership, listening, focus, self confidence, self awareness and even empathy. Improvisation = SEL (Social Emotional Learning). Instructors also teach production management and career development.
Camp is held in midtown, at the Broadway Comedy Club, one block from the Colbert Show stage door. Teachers are professionals from stage & screen under the direction of Walt Frasier (Billions, BlueBloods, Royal Pains Letterman, MTV, HBO etc). Additional teen counselors are all comedy camp veterans.
