On the first Saturday of each month, the Cox Science Center and Aquarium is open for special exploration designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing, cognitive challenges, or other guests requiring assistance for disabilities.

Experience the exhibits without heavy crowds and softened general lighting before it becomes open to the public. The center tries to have a decreased noise level and limited visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible. The facility is also ADA accessible and wheelchair friendly.
