Feeding South Florida’s Annual Outrun Hunger 5K Broward
Feeding South Florida, the leading hunger-relief organization in South Florida, hosts its 14th Annual Outrun Hunger 5K. At an all-new location this year, runners, walkers, families and community leaders of all ages come together to take steps to raise funds and awareness to end hunger in South Florida at Vista View Park in Davie.
Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the Outrun Hunger 5K will start at 7:30 a.m. An award ceremony will take place after the race.
The funds raised will support Feeding South Florida’s mission to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.
Currently, in South Florida, there are over 1.2 million food insecure individuals, and one in nine individuals in South Florida remain uncertain about where they will get their next meal due to inflation, the strained supply chain, rising fuel prices and increased housing costs, among other factors.
Participants can join the event as an individual or a team. Those not participating in the race may also support Feeding South Florida’s mission to fight food insecurity by creating a personalized fundraising page.
