Hamiinat! (That means hello!)

Southern California Children's Museum welcomes Chumash/Tataviam Elder Alan Salazar "Puchuk Ya'ia'c" (Fast Runner) for a special Storytime in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Alan reads his book, "Tata, the Tataviam Towhee" followed by a tomol and earth pigment activity.

Alan Salazar is a traditional storyteller, a native educator, and a native monitor/consultant. He is a tribal elder in both the Fernandeño Tataviam and Ventureño Chumash tribes. He continues to actively protect his ancestor's village site and tribal territories.
