Fire! Science and Safety Exhibit
- see all dates
Except January 1, 2022.
The latest exhibit at the California Science Center could be a real lifesaver: Fire! Science & Safety is designed to help guests understand the fire risks that are present in most homes, how simple changes can help to avoid fire dangers, and how to respond if a fire ignites.
As part of the exhibit, guests explore Casa Del Fuego, Apartment 911 as a fire danger detective, seeking out fire and burn hazards so they can help make families, pets and homes safer.
Guests can also explore the science of fire via safe hands-on interactives, creating “fire” out of different ingredients in a firepit, practicing fire-fighting skills with a fire extinguisher, and figuring out which appliances might blow a circuit if you use them together.
In addition a section of the exhibit addresses the increasingly important issue of wildfires in California.
Fire! Science & Safety opened on October 29 and is located in the Creative World Gallery on the 3rd floor.
Please note that while admission to the museum is free, timed-entry reservations
for general admission are required, as are masks for guests ages 2 and up.
By City of L.A. ordinance, proof of COVID vaccination is now required for guests 12 years of age and above.
