CicLAvia -South LA
CicLAvia opens up the streets in South LA for a 7.25-mile route connecting Exposition Park, South Central, and Watts.
CicLAvia is derived from a Spanish term for "bike path" and its goal is to turn LA into one big bike path, if just for a few hours.
People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and bike, walk, skateboard, or push a stroller to discover our beautiful city at non-motorized speeds. CicLAvia offers a wide variety of activities for people of all interests and ages, including music, performances, food trucks galore, and more.
The hubs for this event are: Expo Park, Historic South Central, Central Avenue, Florence Firestone and Watts. Hubs have restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. In addition, free pedicab rides courtesy of AARP are available at each information booth.
The interactive map gives more details.
Note: CicLAvia is not a race and you don't need a bike to participate. You can walk, skate, dance, or play to your heart's content!
