Summer Drama Camp at Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum (Ages 4-18)

Young People (Ages 4-7)

Introduce your young child to the imaginative world of Shakespeare and classical theatre. Experienced teaching artists and caring group leaders engage your little one in Shakespearean text, Theatre Games, Stage Combat, Music, Puppetry, Elizabethan Dance, and more! Children learn to play as a team while developing their individual creativity. The last day of camp includes a share celebrating all they have learned.

Youth (Ages 8-13) Session 1: Workshop

Mon through Fri from 9am – 2pm (see website for dates and rates)

Expert teaching artists will engage your child in exploring a Shakespeare play. In this Workshop Session, the focus is on the process instead of the production. Campers work on a play as well as attend classes in Stage Combat, Character, Improv, Elizabethan Dance and More. The last day of camp includes a Share celebrating all they have learned. Students can enroll in both the Workshop and Production camps.

Youth (Ages 8-13) Session 2: Production

In this Production class, expert teaching artists and caring group leaders lead classes in Fencing, Stage Combat, Improvisation, Voice/Speech, Acting, Elizabethan Song and Dance, and more! It all leads up to a dazzling performance of a Shakespeare play. Youth collaborate, create, and build confidence in a nurturing environment. Students can enroll in both the Workshop and Production camps.

Teen Shakespeare Intensive (Ages 14-18)

Mon through Thurs from 2pm – 6pm (see website for dates and rates)

Teens work with professional actors and directors on classical theatre techniques in Theatricum’s renowned Teen Summer Shakespeare Intensive. Classes include Acting Shakespeare, Scansion & Rhetoric, Stage Fencing & Combat, Improv, Elizabethan Dance & Song, and more. These techniques are applied towards a university-style showcase presentation of scenes and monologues that is shared on the final day.

Teen Repertory (Ages 14-18)

Mon through Fri from 3pm - 6pm (see website for dates and rates)

Perform a play at Theatricum (Students enrolled in both Teen Rep and Teen Shakespeare Intensive receive a discount.)
