The seasonal splash pad at this park is a neighborhood favorite, with partial shade and a variety of ways to play and spray. Another way to cool off here is the six-lane swimming pool, or a wander around the park’s rose garden. Picnic tables are also available,
Belvedere Community Regional Park

Castaic Lake Park
Castaic Lake is one of the largest reservoirs in California and only 40 miles north of DTLA. The park includes picnic areas, camping, launch areas for kayaks and float tubes, and a swim beach—open for 2020 July 9-Sept 7, Thursday through Sunday.
City Terrace Park
City Terrace is a popular park among DTLA families for birthday parties. The partially covered splashpad (confirmed open 2020) is great for cooling off; note that the swimming pool is temporarily closed. Other amenities include 2 baseball diamonds, a tennis court, and a playground.

The Conejo Valley Archers provides an Open Public Archery Session every Saturday morning at the club's outdoor range. Newcomers and students starting at eight years old are welcome. All equipment is available to use; the price of class is a nominal donation to the club.

Locals love The Plunge for its Olympic-size swimming pool, heated competition pool, and diving board (open to kids taller than 48 inches who pass a swim test). Children must be accompanied by adults. The Plunge plans to reopen at limited capacity on July 13, 2020 with new safety protocols.

Up to 5 people can rent one of the swan boats at Echo Park Lake and pedal around the lake. It’s a dazzling, only-in-LA outing, with the city skyscrapers in the distance, and the fountain gushing in the middle of the lake. Choose a daytime ride, or one at night when the swans light up.
