Long Island Puppet Theater Grand Reopening
On Friday July 29th, beginning at 11 am, the Long Island Puppet Theatre will be holding its grand reopening celebration at 10 Heitz Place in Hicksville.
Although the Long Island Puppet Theatre has been around since 1998, new owner Anthony A. Labriola hopes to continue the art of storytelling by modernizing and updating this amazing venue. The grand reopening event will include a ceremonial ribbon-cutting with County Executive Ed Mangano beginning at 11am, followed by a full day of fun with Magician Brandon K. Williams of Suit & Tie Magic, Aerialist Veronica Spettmann, Princesses from A Dream Is A Wish Parties, party clown Rich Ferber, raffles, a Chinese auction and more.
The event will also have music from children’s musician Keri Wirth as well as from Local singer/songwriter Kalene Speranza, and Gabrielle Plaia, Sara Cataldo, Amora Laucella, and Annemarie Levakis!
Food and refreshments from Blaze Pizza and from Tocolo Cantina’s Texas Taco food truck will be available as well!
To add to the excitement, The Long Island Children's Museum will be making a special appearance with a performance of "Mysterious Lake,” and the Long Island Puppet Theatre will be celebrating the grand reopening with an exciting preview performance of “Alice in Wonderland!” Clearly, the grand reopening event is set to be a day of spectacular, action-packed fun!
The Theatre now offers many different features, and is proud to announce that they will be holding numerous shows, such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Punch & Judy: Birthday Surprise!, and Peter Pan. On top of these shows, the theatre also offers parties for special occasions, including a Princess and Pirate party, a Rock Star Party, a Super Hero Party, and more!
Parents can even create a unique celebration experience for their kids, and with party favors such as inflatable guitars, hula hoops, candy, and face paint at the ready, the Long Island Puppet Theatre is clearly the ultimate destination for any special event for kids!
Additionally providing a summer camp for schools, scouts, and other kid-friendly organizations. Kids can enjoy a dance & sing along, snacks, puppet shows, and more! If puppetry is a personal interest, the Long Island Puppet Theatre even offers a website in which a custom puppet can be created. For a more hands-on experience, puppetry workshops are held at the theatre as well. The puppet workshops not only teach the craft of creating and working with puppet friends, but the interesting history of puppeteering!
