Wednesday Workshops for Kids: Letter Writing Workshop at Planting Fields
Ready for an epic winter break adventure? Join Planting Fields for a journey through time as we unlock the art of letter-writing! In this workshop, participants will meet a professional archivist, explore the fascinating history of written communication, and experience the magic of writing by hand!
In this experience, explore real letters from the Coe family’s children, use vintage typewriters, quills, homemade ink, and cool stamps to write your own letter, and have the opportunity to add our letters to a time capsule that won’t open until 2034.
The fun doesn’t stop there – Each participant will take home your very own vintage letter-making kit!
About Wednesday Workshops
This monthly series of children’s workshops engages students ages 5 – 12 to explore the great outdoors of Planting Fields, and immerses them in the ecology, history, art, and more of this site. This series will take place once a month on a Wednesday evening from 4 – 6pm, unless otherwise noted.
