- see all dates
Does your family have treasured keepsakes? Heirlooms with long-lost stories waiting to be discovered? Hallockville Museum Farm hopes their new exhibit, Family Treasures with Tales to Tell, will encourage you to start asking important questions about your family heritage.
Hallockville Museum Farm, the preserved Long Island farm homestead on Sound Avenue in Riverhead, has opened an exhibition of antique quilts, spinning wheels, butter churns and other artifacts that reflect the lives of Long Islanders from centuries gone by.
A highlight of Family Treasures With Tales to Tell, is a collection of historic quilts that were donated recently the Hallockville Museum Farm. Each quilt on display features a story about its maker, the owner, and the individuals’ histories.
The exhibit opens Saturday, July 23 and continues through Sunday, Oct. 9. Guided Hallockville Homestead Tours are on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Self-Guided walking tours of the grounds only are from sunup to sundown.
