Black Racer Snake Search at SoFo
Sat May 25, 2024
9:30am ET
Age: 5+
Price: $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children
Location:
South Fork Natural History Museum
Head to Vineyard Field, behind the South Fork Natural History Museum, for this guided search for the northern black racer snake.
The field is an ideal habitat for the diurnal reptile, and museum staff aids the search by putting boards out in the field, which snakes like to hide under. Educator Andy Sabin, known to the SoFo community as the “Salamander Commander,” is equally as interested in snakes as he is in salamanders and leads the search.
