During this AdvoKids program at the Long Island Children's Museum, celebrate Black History Month by learning about the 2025 theme, African Americans and Labor, which focuses on civil rights leader A. Philip Randolph who was the leader of the groundbreaking Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters Union. Visitors can then create the well-known symbol of the union, a car porters' hat.

AdvoKids is a monthly series focusing on children learning what it means to be an advocate for themselves and others. Adults will learn how they can support their child’s self-advocacy efforts, which promote confidence, resilience, and empathy.
