Presidents Week Crafts and Activities at Garvies Point Museum
Crafts and activities are scheduled for Garvies Point Museum beginning Saturday and continuing through winter break.
Saturday, February 15 GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT 10am - 4pm, ongoing Be a citizen scientist for a day and put your bird-watching skills to work! Participate by counting numbers and species of birds around the preserve and birdfeeders. All skill levels welcome. Reference guide of common birds and binoculars are available. No charge for participation, regular museum admission applies. WOODLAND WINTER WALK 11am & 2pm Brave the elements and join us for a walk through the winter woodland. The woods are teeming with life even when it seems too cold for anything to survive. Guests will observe birds, trees, animals & any tracks & learn how they can survive such harsh conditions. Tuesday, February 18 – Friday, February 21 FACE-PAINTING 10am - 12pm & 1 - 4pm Get your face painted using natural pigment from red shale rock! NATIVE AMERICAN GAMES Tuesday, February 18 10am - 4pm, ongoing NATIVE AMERICAN GAMES of the NORTHEAST & CRAFT Wednesday, February 19 10am - 4pm, ongoing GAMES of the PLAINS & ANIMAL TOTEM SAND-ART Thursday, February 20 10am - 4pm, ongoing GAMES of the SOUTHWEST POTTERY-MAKING CRAFT 10am - 4pm, on the ½ hr. Make & take home your own clay vessel using traditional methods. NOTE: a $5 craft fee per participant applies.
