Dutchess County Fair
The second largest county fair in New York runs the gamut: agricultural and horticultural shows, carnival rides, games, food, racing pigs, a fiddling competition, a Kid's Celebration Mega Tent, petting zoo, a mentalist, a roving robot, canine frisbee dogs, and oodles more.
Other entertainment includes Commeford's Petting Zoo of Exotic Animals, Dock Diving Dogs, Hilby the Skinny German Juggler, and Oscar the Roving Robot, among other notable names. Check the schedule of events to time your visit around your preferred attractions (some are roving). Competitions include livestock, culinary, and fiddling. This year, visitors get to vote for their favorite food as part of the SporkRun challenge. Headlining the grandstand are The Wallflowers.
Nearly half a million patrons visit the Duchess County Fair, set on 144 acres, over the course of its six-day run.
Rain or shine.
