Independence Day Celebration at Mystic Seaport
Celebrate America’s birthday circa 1876 at this Fourth of July event at Mystic Seaport. The day begins with boat races on the Mystic River, an old-fashioned spelling bee for children, and many other fun activities.
Young patriots can even craft hats to wear in the parade which begins at 1:00 p.m.
A rousing 1876 Independence Day ceremony will be followed by an elegant concert featuring the Mystic Silver Cornet Band. In the afternoon, visitors can play croquet with residents of 1876 Mystic and watch live theatrical performances by the Mystic Seaport Tale-Makers. Everybody can help churn ice cream and reap the delicious rewards. And don’t forget to save some energy for 19th-century lawn games on the Village Green. The New England seashore is the perfect place to celebrate America’s 100th birthday, and we look forward to seeing you there!
All activities are included with Museum admission or membership.
