Día de los Muertos: Free Community Event
Sat Oct 30, 2021
10:00am to 5:00pm ET
Age: All ages
Price: Free
Location:
Connecticut Historical Society
Join the Connecticut Historical Society to celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Connecticut Historical Society. Come to CHS to experience the sounds and sights of the Day of the Dead.
Bilingual English/Spanish tours will be held for visitors to get to know the ofrendas, or small altars, that have been set up by local families. Visitors are encouraged to bring their questions and meet their neighbors! There will also be a communal ofrenda where you can bring in or create a message or memento that will become part of the display.
This joyful Mexican celebration takes place among families to welcome their departed family members, to celebrate life, and to poke fun at death.
