Learn all about the parts of a bee and then create your own model or try your hands using some tools. Free for all ages! Join the talented apprentices of the Eli Whitney Museum & Workshop for hands-on activities and crafting.

  • What's the best way to understand a bug? Look at it carefully. Consider the parts of a bug. Six legs, eyes, abdomen, antennae, wings (or not), spiracles, color to hide (ornot). Study models and pictures and construct your own bee to understand thenames and purposes of the parts.
  • Spinning Flowers: May flowersare blooming all around us in the Northeast. Build and decorate a colorfulsunflower and celebrate the beauty of spring! Have you used a hammer or screwdriver? This is a great time to learn how or show your skills in this tool/skill-building project.
