DIY Scarecrow Day
Sat Oct 12, 2019
11:00am to 3:00pm CT
Age: 3 and up
Price: $5 donation or non-perishable food item per scarecrow
Location:
Historic Downtown Long Grove
Looking for a way to scare up some family fun? Build a scarecrow in Long Grove. Scarecrows may be displayed along Old McHenry Rd. for the remainder of October, or you may take your creation home.
Each group of scarecrow artisans will receive a wood base, a bale of hay, and a little direction in exchange for a non-perishable food item or a $5 donation. Guests are asked to supply clothing, hats, gloves, mask, and accessories to bring their scarecrow to life.
This event is rain or shine. It will be canceled in case of stormy weather.
Online registration is available. Walk-ins are welcome. Walk-ins may have to wait a bit for a creative space to work. Please don't forget your patience at home.
