The Oriental Institute hosts Intro to Hieroglyphs, where kids can learn the basics of the Egyptian hieroglyphic writing system, and then explore the galleries and translate real artifacts! By the end of this workshop, kids will understand some of the principles of reading Egyptian hieroglyphs and be able to recognize key hieroglyphs and phrases that show up on the Egyptian artifacts in many museums.
