In lieu of celebrating St. Patrick's Day with their annual parade, South Side Irish Chicagoans will have a contest to decorate their houses for the holiday.

Starting February 19, residents will purchase a "Shamrock Our Blocks" yard side and residents can walk or drive around the neighborhood to view the decorations. Judges will announce the winners, who will receive up to $2,000 in cash and local business gift cards, on March 13.
