Czechs and Slovaks celebrate the harvest on each fall along Cermak Road in Cicero. Houby is the Czech/Slovak word for mushroom, and Cermak is named after former Chicago Mayor Joseph Cermak, who is of Czech descent. The event includes live entertainment, food vendors, and a parade.
