Family Campouts: Summer Owl Prowl
Families can explore the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary after hours and enjoy a night of camping under the stars.
Have an early dinner at home, then come to set up tents near the Barn before sundown, and explore the habitats of the elusive owls. Participants learn all about their adaptations, get a close-up view of owl mounts, listen to the story Owl Moon, and call for owls on a nighttime walk. In the morning, hunt for owl pellets in the forest, and learn what owls eat by dissecting one of the pellets.
All campouts include an evening and a morning activity or hike and a light breakfast. The campout begins at 6pm on Saturday and ends at 9am on Sunday. Campouts are rescheduled only in the event of extreme weather. Please note that refunds will not be issued if the campout is rescheduled to the rain date and you are unable to attend. Advanced registration is required.
