Sensory -Friendly Autumn Exploration
As the crop harvest winds down, Farmer Tim and his crew prepare for winter, but how do wild animals get ready for the cold weather?
This program provides a reduced number of guests and a quieter, sensory-friendly environment, welcoming any family that would benefit from a limited-capacity visit. For questions or concerns, families can reach out to Stacie at skorroch@thetrustees.org.
During the visit, resources will be available, including a limited number of special sensory kits. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring any additional items they may need to enhance their experience.
Families are invited to join a guided hike around the farm fields to discover how wild animals, big and small, spend the fall preparing for winter. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars for a fun exploration as they hike about a mile over level terrain, which may be friendly for jogging strollers depending on recent weather conditions.
Please note that, while four-legged friends are loved, dogs are not permitted at Powisset Farm.
For questions or information on becoming a Trustees member to enjoy free and discounted programs, families can contact powissetfarm@thetrustees.org.
Cancellation Policy: If the Trustees cancel a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, registrants will be notified by email and issued a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To receive a full refund for a reservation cancellation, Powisset Farm must be contacted at least seven days before the program start date. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations made fewer than seven days before the program begins.
