Exploring Rainbows: A Celebration of Pride Month

Celebrate Pride at the Waterworks Museum by engaging in some colorful science and learning about the history and significance of the rainbow flag to the LGBTQ+ community.
See refraction in action by making rainbows with prisms, spray bottles, and bubbles. Play some music and explore how sound travels through water on the Rainbow Water Xylophone. Use watercolor paints and make a rainbow flag. Listen to a reading of The Rainbow Flag: Bold, Bright, and Beautiful at 12pm. Tie-dye following immediately after, until 2pm. Dye scrunchies, bandanas, or bring a cotton item from home to color.
