National Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony launches the National Cherry Blossom Festival with peformances from artists with ties to both Japan and the United States.
Each spring the nation's capital is in full bloom with gorgeous cherry blossom trees on display along the Tidal Basin. The festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 trees from Japan, and the longstanding friendship between Japan and the United States.
From the opening ceremony to parade finale, the Cherry Blossom Festival spans over four weekends and welcomes 1.5 million visitors, with special events taking place all over the District. Please check the official website for details.
Tickets to the live event happening at the Warner Theatre will be available starting in February 2024. The opening ceremony will also be livestreamed on YouTube.
