Library of Congress Treasures Family Festival
As part of an all-day festival, visiting families are invited to join the Library of Congress for participatory activities complementing the Library’s new Treasures Gallery. Activities will be held on the second floor of the Jefferson Building. There will also be “Treasures of American Communities” performances and demonstrations all day in the Great Hall.
Programming Schedule:
10:30 – 3:30 Drop in for exhibition-themed activities (2nd floor)
10:30 – 11:30 Family folk music sing-along with musician Natalie Merchant (see ticketing information below)
11:30 – 12:15 Double Dutch demonstration with D.C. Retro Jumpers
12:20 – 1:15 Indoor square dance
1:20 – 2:00 Demonstration by Black Girls Hand Games Project
2:10 – 3:00 Body percussion and clogging performance
3:30 – 4:30 Outdoor square dance (weather permitting)
All events are free of charge. Reserve building entry passes at loc.gov/visit. Natalie Merchant concert ticketed separately.
