Alchemy Ballet presents DON QUIXOTE at Capital One Hall
On Saturday, June 14, 6:30pm, Artists in Motion dba Alchemy Ballet will present the beloved and timeless classic DON QUIXOTE on the magnificent main stage theater at Capital One Hall, Tysons, Virginia.
With a cast of more than 40 Alchemy dancers ages 5-20, plus special guests from other area studios and companies--including Ariel Martinez from the prestigious Washington Ballet–Don Quixote is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
Brimming with Spanish flair, virtuosic choreography, and comedic charm, Don Quixote follows the fanciful misadventures of the eccentric knight and his loyal companion Sancho Panza. As they chase dreams of heroism and romance, the stage comes alive with sweeping group scenes, electrifying solos, and vibrant characters.
Internationally renowned and award-winning dancer-director-choreographer Luis Serrano from Cuba directs Alchemy Ballet’s production of Don Quixote–which he directed to great acclaim in 2020 with Ballet Monterrey of Mexico. From Cuba, Serrano began his career at the National Ballet of Cuba and went on to Principal Dancer with the Miami City Ballet, performing such distinguished roles as Don Quixote, Blue Bird, Paquita, Coppelia. He received numerous awards and top honors at many international ballet competitions.
As a special bonus attraction before the curtain rises and during intermission will be live Flamenco music and dance will be performed by legendary guitarist Torcuato Zamora and renowned dancers Estela Velez and Daniel Paredez from the award winning Furia Flamenca Dance Company.
