The Greater Philadelphia Walk to Defeat ALS is a family-friendly, 1.5-mile walk that raises funds to support The ALS Association in its mission to bring help and hope to people who live with ALS. Walkers can enjoy music, refreshments, and a special visit by the Phillies Phanatic.

More commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. On average, ALS claims lives within five years of diagnosis, making research to find better treatments and a cure an urgent priority.
