PECO Family Jams: Mosaic Medallions
Twenty years ago, the sculpture garden was saved from demolition. How? People who believed in Isaiah Zagar’s artwork founded the nonprofit museum Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Today, PMG protects and preserves three sites created by Isaiah. This group dedicated to preserving all the murals he has mosaicked throughout the city.
Come celebrate PMG’s anniversary with a popular craft. Make your own mosaic inside a jar lid using beads, tiles, and recycled materials and leave with a handmade souvenir. Take a free tour of our fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm to learn how the mosaics at PMG were made.
PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs, held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 pm. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your regular admission tickets in advance.
