Somos Philly Hosts “Fiesta Latina for Kids” – A Free Community Event Celebrating Latin Culture & Language

Live music, dance, arts & crafts, and Latin food highlight this fun-filled community event!

Somos Philly Spanish Immersion Summer Camp is excited to invite families to a FREE, fun-filled 'Fiesta' on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM on the front lawn of the Old Pine Community Center at 401 Lombard Street. This special event will feature live music, Latin-inspired arts & crafts for kids, interactive dance instruction, delicious Latin food and desserts for sale, free giveaways for kids, raffles, and free coffee for parents. 

Philadelphia’s First-Ever Spanish Immersion & Latin Culture Summer Camp

Somos Philly is proud to launch Philadelphia’s first-ever Spanish immersion and Latin culture summer camp! To celebrate the launch of this innovative camp concept, Somos Philly co-founders are hosting this Sunday morning ¡Fiesta! for kids and parents to enjoy. At Somos Philly, kids won’t just learn Spanish—they’ll explore Latin culture through hands-on activities, music, dance, cooking, and more. Every week, our campers will discover a different region of Latin America, fully immersed in the region’s food, music, dance, traditions, and culture. We aim to help children develop Spanish language skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity.

An Invitation to Philadelphia Families

Hosted by the co-founders of Somos Philly Spanish Immersion Summer Camp, “Fiesta Latina for Kids” is an opportunity for local families to experience the joy of Latin culture, meet our co-founders and camp director, and connect with a like-minded community that values bilingual education and cultural appreciation. Participating vendors selling food will include Puyero Venezuelan Flavor Restaurant, Tamalex Bar and Grill Mexican Restaurant, and Avenida 7 Cuban Cafe. Cafe Duskaia will provide organic Nicaraguan coffee, free for parents.  We will feature organic, vegan, & 100% gluten-free (celiac friendly) Venezuelan desserts for sale by Tres Fiori, as well as Mexican beverages provided by South Philly Barbacoa.  We will also have Ecuadorian jewelry for sale by Artesanias Luz, as well as live music by Colombian children’s entertainer, Caterine Pimiento.  We will also have free raffles for gift cards to local businesses.
