Summertime at GFS

Summertime at GFS invites children of all ages and from all schools to explore and cultivate their interests, engage in the community surrounding Germantown Friends School, and foster new friendships during the summer. Summertime at GFS invites campers to be inquisitive and curious about themselves, their community and their world all while emphasizing traditional summertime fun. Each camp is designed for campers to answer that important life question: “What will my unique contribution to the world be?” By exploring what’s possible, campers will be confident no matter the answer.

Summer Camps:

Athletic Camps: (Rising 1st - 9th) include Grade Boys and Girls Sports Camps, Girls Basketball Camp Field Hockey Clinic, Soccer Camp, Wrestling Camp Baseball & Softball Camp, and Lacrosse Camp Day Camp.

GFS’s Day Camp is a 6-week camp designed for children to discover and cultivate their interests, learn new and exciting things through reading and experience, engage in the community surrounding Germantown Friends School, and foster new friendships during the summer. Each day, campers enjoy different activities in art, science, craft, music, and drama ensuring non-stop excitement and fun. Campers also explore the community through nature walks, scavenger hunts, and visits with the librarians at Friends Free Library. Weekly, Friday field trips and water play make Day Camp a unique experience. Each camp group has time at the infamous water slide for water play or, weather permitting, trips to Germantown Cricket Club for swimming. Campers are grouped by age and are paired with experienced, CPR and first-aid certified camp staff.

Specialty Camps are led by community partners, outside instructors or GFS teachers. Camps include Be a Hero!
